In the previous page you have met the Universal Viewer, one of the 3 key components of the My AR Studio platform, a complete solution to show your 3D products on the Web and in Augmented Reality.
Let's see the overall picture.
We have just analyzed the final user experience. But how that 3D model was served? Who made it and how? Here come the My AR Studio Distribution and the Control Panel.
The Distribution system is a worldwide cloud system based on Amazon AWS technology for maximum reliability and performance. We designed it to lift you from all the burdens of managing and distributing the content, it is stable and constantly monitored. It takes care of serving the right asset, for the right platform at the right moment (yes, the smooth experience we saw before has many things under the hood 😉).
For the operations we created the Control Panel, an easy to use but powerful web based user interface, where you can upload and manage all your assets that you distribute via the My AR Studio platform.
Now that we have some common ground, let's make it real!
The workflow is as follow:
Let's review the process in 3 simple steps.
We assume you have designed your product in your preferred 3D editor.
Export your model into GLB format.
NOTE: if you are unfamiliar with GLB, don't worry, it's just a 3D file format. We have many guides on that.
As simple as a drag&drop and a mouse click.
Your 3D model is now processed by the My AR Studio platform and it is ready to be shared.
The Universal Web Viewer with AR capabilities of My AR Studio can be used in multiple ways:
Here's the Universal Viewer we got from the Control Panel:
And this is the code that we copy-pasted from the My AR Studio Control Panel into this webpage.
Yes, we use it ourselves and it's as simple as this!
<iframeclass="relative"style="width:100%; height:100%;"allowtransparency="true"src="https://viewer.myarstudio.cloud/viewer_master/index.html?p=86d6b5d1-ed63-5a2d-8018-f214d5c3fc41&c=fe44c9a6-e0be-52e7-89bb-9320010337fe&b=f2f01834-6984-4e4d-bd20-8e7586523cf0"></iframe>
The Universal Viewer plus the QR-code system allow many possibilities for sharing your model:
If you are prototyping you can share the direct link to your colleagues or clients, via Whatsapp, Slack, Teams, email, etc.
If you need to publish it on your website you just insert an HTML snippet into your webpage. It also works with CMSs like Hubspot, SquareSpace, Wordpress, etc.
Here are a few examples of application from different industries. Use the selector on the right to change model.
Mass distribution: you are an established Brand and distribute your products online worldwide through an e-commerce. You add 3D and AR capabilities to your website to reduce the distance between your clients and your products. My AR Studio distribution platform is based on Amazon AWS to ensure maximum performance and reliability worldwide.
Complete your physical store gamma: you distribute your product also offline but can't keep all products physically available in every store. Thanks to AR you can show products that you don't have physically in your offline store.
Prototyping: rapid prototyping is one of the revolutions of the latest years. You can't wait to "materialize" your products while you are designing it. 3D printing is faster but AR is the fastest and the cheapest! You definitely want to add AR to your toolbelt.
Indie maker / Startup: you have a niche product or you are starting up. Showcasing your product physically costs tons of money. Doing it online is cheap, fast and now effective with AR.
We love this technology because it's happening quietly and gradually. It's easy to create hype with some revolutionary thing, but, we now know, how many of them are real? How many of them get adopted, last and prove them useful?
Augmented Reality is real, is here, is pervasive, is already inside your phone! Did you know? Since a few years by now!
It has happened and it is happening, improving every year, increasing accuracy, expanding people's capabilities, allowing them to enhance physicality and shorten distances.
You have never been so close to your customers as you are now with Augmented Reality.
And yes, no app required.
Let's play a little game!
Which chair is the real one? Left or right?
Let's discover!
